loot

To start out this post, I want to mention that farming this does require decent gear. I personally found that 425-450AP is enough to be useful in duo’ing the following, however if you wish to solo it, expect to need higher. Aim to be able to put out about 400k damage in 1 minute, or you will have trouble. For comparison, if you can do Janghado in 2 minutes, or Mushin form 1 in about a minute, you should be fine. If you cannot, you will either need to be VERY careful in pulling, or bring a friend.

The respawn rate is high enough that you should never need to leave your camp, and the drops are reliable enough that it can provide a pretty steady form of income. I expect the price to drop a bit after this post, but this is only one of a few of my various farming method’s ill be releasing soon!

Bird Locations

For this guide, we will be farming Skypetal Feathers. These feathers have various uses, but the most important is for Soul Wardens to craft the Silverfrost critical soul shields. These feathers currently market for a bit over 25 silver each, but can go as high as 30 silver each. Their price has been relatively steady since release, and the volume of trades is enough to support a good amount of farming.

To start, we will be farming the large red and blue birds near the Plog Sanctum. These birds come in pairs, and respawn fairly quickly. With 300,000 HP each, they can be a tough kill solo, especially with their quick respawn. The goal to farming these is to alternate their respawns, setting them up so that when you kill one, the other respawns shortly after.

Both BirdsEach bird drops between 0 and 6 feathers, however you should generally see 1-3 feathers per bird, resulting in an average of a bit over half a gold per kill. If you keep up with the spawn rate, you will be able to kill exactly 1 bird per minute, or 60 per hour, resulting in 30g per hour in feathers alone. They also drop incredibly high amounts of blue weapons and jewelry, as well as Naryu Coins, making their value to farm only increase.

The attack rotation of the birds is fairly simple, but they do quite high amounts of CC, and getting both birds at once is almost always a death sentence.  To pull the birds, simply run beneath them, and then use some form of I-Frame to dodge their initial stun before they land. Once they have landed, they continue with many frontal cone attacks, and a large AOE, which can be I-Framed quite easily. Fortunately, they do not have unstoppable, allowing them to be easily stunlocked, perma-rooted, or similar. If you go this route, make sure to stand behind them, as their large AOE can still go off, even when stunned, but will not trigger if you are behind them.
